This is 34…
Last Sunday I landed myself in the emergency room. This was a first for me because I NEVER get sick or have issues, however there I was…miserable, alone (thanks COVID!), and in serious pain. Me being me, I initally assumed it was a potential hang over from the previous days festivities. Amari and I had thrown the best Juneteeth on the 4th kickback and admittedly I had my fair share of wine, beer, and hard liquor. However, it couldn’t possibly have been more than a hang over, constipation or diarrhea right?
So yeah, there we were…who you asked? Brit, Ye, Dom, Mecca, and I taking pictures of the beautiful and illustrious Ms. Macon Addison Young. She had turned 9-months old that Sunday as well, so I had to immortalize the moment. I had felt a little queezy and bloated but nothing I couldn’t overcome, plus we had decided to go to Ponce City Market and enjoy a mexican burrito at Minero’s before saying goodbye to Dom. She was scheduled to go back to NY at 9 PM.
Flash forward to the ride to Ponce. Mecca decided to drive the Jeep since I wasn’t feeling up to it…notice I said Jeep. Jeeps are a bumpy ride, so the queezy feeling turned into full blown nausea in a matter of minutes. There. I. was…throwing up on the side of the road like I was back in New Orleans during my college days. Le sigh. We get to Ponce and the miserableness doesn’t end there. Was it constipation or diarrhea? I will say neither because nothing came out, however my stomach would not stop churning. After deciding to isolate myself on a bench while my girls sat down to eat, my knight in shining armour offered to come get me to which I obliged.
Home. Naked. Afraid. I lay in bed. Upper backache on ten. Abdominal pain on weird. Around 8:30 PM I threw up bile acid which I knew then was not normal. At 9 PM I’m on my knees in the fetal position, rocking back and forth, when I tell my love he needs to take me to the ER. At 12 AM I am notified by the doctor that I have a GALLSTONE blocking my gall bladder duct! Fortunately, there was no infection…unfortunately my gall bladder will have to be removed either tonight or the next coming weeks. I opted to have it done outpatient of course because I wanted to keep my risks for contracting COVID as low as possible.
This is 34. At thirty-four I am having my first elective surgery. My body is most likely trying to tell me to start eating better Sesily; work out more Sesily. I promise to do so after my surgery on Friday, but I digress. If you were wondering, Macon’s 9-month photo shoot was a blast. See below.
